About
Hi, I'm Dalton Jones
I'm a musician, audio engineer, and electronic music enthusiast based in Columbus, Ohio.
Thanks to my father, I grew up listening to the music of Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, and my personal favorite Rush. Being a nerdy kid, I became fascinated with movies like Back to the Future, Star Wars, and Bladerunner. These imaginary worlds always seemed real to me, thanks to their ever-fascinating sound design and soundtracks.
I've been a musician ever since high-school playing saxophone and bass for multiple ensembles. Nowadays I am fascinated with all forms of sonic synthesis.
Recording in a studio for the first time captivated me. My passion for high-quality audio design and music has driven me ever since.
What I Do
Currently, I'm wrapping up my undergrad at Capital University, majoring in music technology with a minor in computer science.
During my time at Capital, I have worked with many musicians and on all kinds of projects. Although I have learned that I have a special interest in sound design. Be it foley, ADR, or creating a sound from scratch, I love the process.
Get To Know My Process
Being a creative individual myself and having experience in the studio makes me aware of the challenges that artists and production leaders encounter when they are recording. That's why I like to make my clients feel as comfortable as possible. As a result, they can concentrate on the creative part while I capture the energy.
One of the things I love the most is making a world seem real. I believe that audio is best way to immerse an audience into a new reality. Be it music, movies, or video-games, sound will always be there to capture the emotion, scale, and integrity of the project. For everything I work on, I want the listener to be captivated and invested.
