WOSU - Broad and High Presents

Starting with Season 11, I became the audio recording and mixing engineer for Broad and High Presents. A Columbus program that showcases local bands and artist.

Control (Acoustic Master) - The Psyche

This is a master of the song “Control” by the band The Psyche. I produced, mixed, and mastered this version of the song.

I Just Want to Hang Around You - Capital University's World Music Ensemble

This is a mix I did for the song “I Just Want To Hang Around You” covered by one of my university’s World Music Ensemble.

Mimic the Mix

For this project, I was given individual tracks of an un-mixed song. Then I was given the final stereo mix. The goal was to recreate the final mix by only listening to the final stereo version. The top player is my mix, and the bottom player is the original mix.

The Sound of Wassily Kandinsky

This is a song I composed to be played over speakers at an art exhibit here in Columbus. It was created for the purpose of my Electronic Composition class. More info about the exhibit and a quick summary of how I composed the piece can be found here in this article.

Film Scoring for Stranger Things - Retro Escape

This is a song I composed to be played over the chase seen in the first season of Stranger Things. It was created for the purpose of my Electronic Composition class. I also used a Nintendo Gameboy for the synth sequence heard mid-way through.

Sound Design

Sound Replacement for Incredibles Opening

For this project, I replaced every sound from the opening scene of The Incredibles. Meaning I took the original clip, muted it, then recorded and mixed everything you hear back into the clip. 85% of the sounds were recorded by myself and some friends while the other 15% were sourced from the Soundly Library. The original score was then added back into the video.

Pay attention to the subtle yet important perspectives of each sound. It may not be much, but little details like this are what make the sound design so immersive and fun.

Spatial Audio for Audiobooks

For my senior project, I am experimenting with spatial audio and how that technology can be transferred into the world of audiobooks. In my opinion, spatial audiobooks will become very popular as spatial audio in general becomes more mainstream. If you'd like to learn more about this project, please read my blog post about it here

Sound Replacement for Back to The Future Opening

Similar to the Incredibles Project above, I replaced every sound from the opening scene of Back to the Future. Meaning I took the original clip, muted it, then recorded and mixed everything you hear back into the clip. 90% of the sounds were recorded by myself and some friends while the other 10% were sourced from the Soundly Library.

Shift 2 - Surround Sound Mixing

This is a Surround Sound mix of the trailer for the video game Shift 2. For this project, we were given a folder of various recorded sounds and were tasked to mix and edit them all together in order to create something that captured the excitement of the game.

GI Joe PSA Sound Replacement

The same concept as the Incredibles and Back to the Future projects, however on a much smaller and more relaxed scale.

Media

Podcast and Radio

This is a short audio sample of some of the podcast and radio material I've worked on. It includes an episode of the CBuzz Podcast that I mixed. I edited a few episodes of the Cbuzz podcast in the Spring of 2022 that were released over the following summer. An episode of the True Print for Life Podcast which I helped launch in May of 2021 and continue to produce. As well as a short radio sweeper for Capital University's WXCU Radio station.

Interning with Boxland Media

During my time Interning with Boxland Media, I was in charge of setting up, recording, and editing various audio and video projects. Including but not limited to podcasts, voice-acting reels, musicals, and creative social media posts. Please read more about my time et Boxland here in this blog post.
