Audio Blog
Audio Blog is still a work in progress. Thank you for your patience.
Here is a collection of blog post from my time interning with Boxland Media and Femergy in Columbus, Ohio.
For my senior project, I am experimenting with spatial audio and how that technology can be transferred into the world of audiobooks. Will audiobooks benefit from a surround sound environment, or will it be too distracting from the story? Or, will the audio design make the story more immersive and enjoyable?

Just some fun I had messing around with some of my new gear!
A Harmonic Minor
The purpose of this video is to show you the behind-the-scenes of tracking "A Harmonic Minor".
If you have been following up on the blog, you will know that I recently tracked Austin Nichols for their song ‘A Harmonic Minor’. While at the time of writing this I am still working with Austin to make a definitive mix, I have recently had to turn in a “Final” version for class. So, for today’s blog post, I thought it would be interesting to talk about my approach to mixing the song and what I have learned from it.
As a student at Capital University, I have access to a lot of studios with a lot of gear. To get more comfortable with some of this equipment, I went into Studio E and messed around with some of the rack gear that is in there. Today I’m going to share my findings with you all so that you can get a better understanding of what some of this equipment sounds like.
In class, we have recently learned how to edit and enhance a mix through sample adjustments, timing adjustments, re-arrangement, and tuning. Essentially changing the natural performance of the performers and their original arrangement of the song. In this post, I will discuss how I approached doing each of these things while mixing a song by Dan Wilburn. As well as the morality of doing so.
